McMark and I were chit-chatting the other day.
We think that if I *don't* modify the car any more before July 23rd, this may be the first back to back A/X with no mods since April 2004
This season:
SIX,
200# rear springs
race brake pads
rebuilt calipers
Motul fluid
ss brake lines
Yokohama's on wider track wheels
Hoosier track tires ( flat spotted )
DOT-R A/X Hoosiers
The 2 a/x's before the WCC might be the exception
Been fun though
Don't worry, I've got more.

i'd hate to see that happen, trek. think we could slap a 5-lug under your car before the 23rd?
btw, grant's a maniac after we dialed in his setup a little more. seriously. swing down for the day and we can do the same on your car, if you wish.

I ran SD region yesterday.. they tend to lean towards 1.5 mile 911 courses..LOL. Poor little 2.0 4cyl 914 has a hard time vying for TTD. I'm going to need our shop car for the AutoX's down here.LOL.

Just popped in before I call it a day at the shop and go home.

Here is the shop car we just got running AFTER pulling out 25lbs worth of wiring and 12lbs worth of small computers.. 98 CarreraS converted to RSR. Goes to paint this weekend. Everything in red/black is carbon fiber.

We had 129 cars yesterday. Randall would have had a "hey day" with the way they run their events down here.
2 sets of 4 lap (practice runs.. no time/comes counted, but you see your time on the timing stand)
4 timed runs
It flows very well/fast

I fall into that always modifying the car too. Sometimes end up screwing up something and have to figure out how to fix the ill handling booger inbetween runs.
We don't get practice runs or nothing so you run what you brung and figure out what it takes to go faster as you go.
I started a log book of settings to keep trackof what change did what to the handling and HP/ torque of the motor.

I thought yur car was the redneck racer? I dont know no rednecks who keep log books.
You may want to keep a driver log since thats what makes the biggest difference in your times at an AX. Here's what you might think about tracking:
Did you you eat 3 or 4 pieces of left over fried chicken for breakfest ?
Did you drink 1 or 2 bottles of Jack the day before your race?
How many bags of Cheese Puffs did you consume during the race?
Did you get any physical excerise the day before? You know like kickn the dog or maybe a bar fight?
Did you wear shoes or go barefoot?
1 or two tins of chew during the race?

Uh well actually Chicken strips and a Mountain Dew for breakfast.
Never kick a good dog ( I got two)
Don't wear shirt while changing tiars (too hot) usually sandals
got sexy driving shoes for the racin
Bar fight??? Did end up on Bourbon street till 4:30 am. with a 6 am course set up.

I think Grant may have stumbled onto something. I had a 30 minute nap over a 24 hour period before our AutoX on sunday. It sucked. I was falling asleep in the staging lanes (that constantly move)

Yep, the Chevron grid is definitely better. More nap time.
