SOLD!
-----------------------------------------------
For sale: a pair of used SSI Stainless Steel Heat Exchangers for a 1.7 or 1.8 914.

The heat exchangers are in really nice shape, a few small dings on the bottom but otherwise in great shape (see pics). These have been tested and have no cracks -- I plugged the outlets of the exhaust tubes, stood the HEs up on end and filled the tubes with water -- there was no drop in water level after two hours. Asking $400 for the pair plus shipping (or pick up).

I also have a 1.7 liter muffler hanger (not shown) for $20 plus shipping, but that's not going up for sale until the HEs are sold (so I can offer it to whomever buys the HEs).

These came on my car but weren't correct for a 2.0. I managed to pick up a set of correct parts, and don't need these any more. If you buy both the muffler and the HEs, I'll throw in the muffler hanger and a new pair of exhaust gaskets.

Edited because sold!

Would you sell the Bursch separately?

@dnagray
Certainly. The muffler is available separately from the HEs.

Good afternoon. I'm restoring a 1973 1.7 ltr with intentions of increasing displacement to 2ltr.
What causes these not to fit 2ltr? Is it possible to have them machined to fit? I'm sorry with all the dumb questions.....I'm a newbie!

These will fit on a 2 liter, but you have to use a 1.7/1.8 exhaust and bracket setup with these.
