I am working on a top-end rebuild and the bottom tins do not fit the new cylinder. So now the tins do not fit, very frustrating.

Do you think I should:
1. Modify the bottom tins to fit?
2. Delete the bottom tin because the new pistons will not need them because they are made out of better materials.
3. Try to find a kit to solve the issue

My guess is if the bottom tins do not fit I am going to have additional issues as I finish the rebuild. As always thank you for your advice.

Common problem if your using aftermarket cylinders. You must modify it to fit. Ran in to this problem building my 2056 with biral fiins.

I see you are running the birals so modify the bottom tins to fit

You have to have the deflectors to get air passing over the bottom fins.

For type one conversions (T4 upright fan into bug/early bus) I use the type one deflector, bend it to shape and safety wire it in place.

For my /6 I made RSR 906 deflector copies out of stainless steel, and safety wired them in place for good measure.

Sorry for the /6 they are 906 deflector copies, not RSR.
