Car needed new wiper blades. I bought a pair of Bosch envision blades, 30 buks a blade, expensive blades or is that the going price these days?

In my opinion, overpriced... Prices have gone up, but I usually pay 8.99 each (often 6.99 on sale) Michelin blades at Costco for most of my cars. I don't believe they stock 13" blades, but a quick check of Amazon found the right size Michelin blades for $12. They seem just fine, but maybe the Bosch blades are that much better

I use my windshield wipers primarily to keep the glass clear. Stuff gets splashed onto the car, you get overspray from the car in front of you, etc. I keep a coat of RainX on my windshield for the rare rainstorm here in the Bay Area. I find that works better than just the wipers. Good working windshield wipers are one of the cheapest and most important safety features. But if I owned your car I probably wouldn't drive in the rain, or even drive close enough to any other car to get anything on my windshield

Dude! You haven't lived until you've cruised the highway with the top off in a pouring toad strangler rain. It's like that old movie 'Speed' with the bomb on the bus. Keep driving and everybody will be fine. Slow down and.. boom! The looks from other drivers are priceless. That's the stuff of life

As far as I know 13 inch blades should fit fine. I checked two fitment guides. Not sure if it is common to include the correct connectors, that would be brand dependent. If the right ones don't come in the package I know for Michelin you can call customer service and they ship them to you for free. That is the case for Michelin blades for the 914 (at least according to the footnotes in their fitment guide).

You can also get them from 914Rubber -- $19 each. And you get to support a great vendor.

Bought new Bosch ones but think the arms are SWF so the blade mounting clips with the Bosch units are useless,managed to use my old ones but they are worn so too much flip and flop meaning extra load on the already slow drive.
Have lot of arms and drives from other cars so may build something up,I have Boxster assembly I might play around with.
The better the blade @ wiping the issue is the worn out drive shafts,I don't think mine are that great TBO .

I had no problems mounting these blades

I am no expert, but the pictures from bbrock look like the same ones used on beetles, ghias and T2 busses.... VW part 113 955 433 and they cost not the $$ as I see in other posts.... I see them for 7$ a pair.... I have no idea if they are the correct width, but maybe worth a try to figure out ?

swf or valeo accomplish the factory look, AND they are inexpensive. 96462890102 is the current part number

Took the wife to work and I got caught in the rain, I'd forgotten they were a loose fit as I try to avoid rain. The passenger side seems to fit OK but the drivers was wiggling all over. Twenty minutes from home it flipped kind of upside down and it was the rainX that got me home.
I had to dig out an old attachment for that blade.

I try to avoid downpours.
I like the un-cluttered look of no arms/wipers.
They're handy, right up front, ready to install.

SWF blades, OEM supplier, at Pelican $7.50 each. Replace 964 part # referred to above.
I've always doubted 13" blades were fitted on new cars.
Did Porsche/VW sell a new car with the drivers wiper sweeping onto the windshield
trim ?

Still have my SWF blade holders so that could be a cure but from memory they were very worn,they go all floppy and the blade tends to roll over too much with side to side movement.
The whole thing is a PITA considering you read "this part fits your 914" .
Bought a new set of wiper arms from a well known west coast US supplier and received them and they didn't look right,turned out they were 930/SC US spec LH drive arms,same BS about fitting my car which they didn't.
Strange how I got these as I was in the 914 section .
Every cloud has a silver lining as they say a guy on our countries biggest auction bid up on them like crazy and I returned 2.5 times my cost but really not how I like to buy as sending parts half way back around the world can't work for me.
