What goes here to connect the lever to the heater valve? Where might I purchase such parts?

Also, I have never had stock heat installed. Do most people remove some heater tubes to adjust valves or just reach around stuff? Just trying to save myself some trial and error time in the future

I get that it's probably a stock photo, but that doesn't look like it has the normal lever connection.

Here's a pic of stock flapper boxes (not mine):



The relevant part is at the end of the lever in the bottom right of the picture. It connects to the heater cable end with a barrel nut. The other end of the heater cable is up in the center console near the gear shift. You need one cable and two barrel nuts. 914 Rubber has both.

I think you can adjust the valves without removing any of the heater components. It's a minor PITA either way.

You are missing the loop and pin that allows you to hook the cable to the barrell nut.
Are you missing two? I dont think you can buy them. I can probably find a couple in some trash flapper boxes

I thought you needed what was missing from the pic you posted. I don't have the barell nuts.
They are $1 each from Pelican or VW shops.
If you need the cable be aware there is an early and late. I have found some don't fit as there are several variations of lever position clocking on the flappers. I bought a roll of heavy piano wire and made my own.

Sorry I haven't been clear. I am missing the linkage shown in BeatNavy's picture.

Still not clear as to what you have or need.
Why not post a picture of what you have?

It seems to work easier when you post pictures of what you're actually working with rather than a stock photo off of some site.

Finally got under the car to take a picture. What parts do I need to connect the heater cable to the valve? The cable is there, just not shown in the picture.
