My 6 did not come to me with fogs. It came with black non cutout grills. I understand that the fogs were part of an appearance group...and that all wiring harnesses have the fog wiring incorporated. At the front end of the car I have identified the wiring for the fogs and it looks like it had been used before. I am in the process of sourcing the lights and grills, but wondered if by chance I already have the switch. My dash is out and all my wiring exposed. Could someone post a picture of the dash and the switch for me to determine if I already have the switch?

sixes up to about 9140431100 did not have fog lights. After that it was standard. Euro sixes had fog lights that came on with the high beams so did not have a switch on the dash. ALL cars were wired for foglights. Here are three examples. Euro six, USA six both with fog lights, then USA six without foglights

Nice to know that. Thanks Doc. beerchug.gif

My early -6 did not have fogs. Sometime long ago I procured a switch, cut a hole in the vinyl and installed it. If I recall, all the wires were there and I got power to the leads behind the grills. Bought some fog grills and member refurbished fog lights. They are still in the box...

You also need a round relay for the back of the fuse panel.
Here's the instructions to make them work any way you want HERE.

George,
Didn’t the euro cars have driving lights, not fogs? Not splitting hairs, just trying to clarify...

So I have sourced the fogs, one grill (need to figure out which side I am missing) and the switch. First step is to restore the fogs and make sure they are working. They look to be a black satin finish...both the light and bracket? Or are they different colors?

It had regular Euro taillights, with amber turn signals and white reversing lights.

The bracket was silver zinc plated. Housings and rings satin black.

Yep, there were driving lights (which completely fill the bumper grilles) and then the fog lights seen on US cars (which do not completely fill the grilles, and are more opaque).

Opened up the fogs and see the spade for the ground, but no spade for +? There is a tiny ferule at the base of the light that looks like a bare wire could be synched with an allen screw. Is that the positive?
dr914@autoatlanta.com
no tinned hot wire fits under the lug on the fog light electrical connection and is tightened with the set screw
Speedo
So my front wires to the fog lights have spade connectors. Do I make a jumper with a bare end to this fitting that then connects to my spade connector?Click to view attachment
