Don't ask me why, but I've always loved the gruesome, disgusting, low-budget horror films. The more intense, the better.

I currently own:

The original Dawn of the Dead
The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The original Night of the Living Dead
Zombie
The Toxic Avenger
The Evil Dead

Plus, I just bought "I Spit on Your Grave" off eBay..... I haven't seen it yet, but should be arriving soon, perhaps even today, and I'm pretty excited about it.

Any other like-minded, twisted individuals out there have any other suggestions??

Dead alive

a Japanese movie called 'battle royale'
another called 'Ishi the Killer'

not as gory: 'hush , hush sweet charolette'

I'm actually a fan of the HellRaiser Series too, and Nightmare on Elm St. (have the box set) Series

While not necessarily scary, try this for uber cheesy gore: Bad Taste

There is even a gratuitous scene with an exploding sheep fighting19.gif

if this disgusting shit is more your liking... watch 'Meet the feebles' that movie is so F'D!

The Blob with Steve McQueen.

Great movie. My teenaged sister and her best friend watched it one summer afternoon and then went out with friends. I made up knox blox jello that was the same color as the blob and put it in the bottom of her bed, under the covers. After staying up most of the night talking with her friend, she got into the bed. When she stuck her feet into the jello, there were screams so loud it woke everyone in the house. lol2.gif chairfall.gif

Needless to say I was grounded for a week for this. It was worth it!

I LOVE that movie!!!!

Evil Dead is the only movie ever made.

Seen it...laughed so hard I nearly puked. Dead Alive is great too. Amazing that the same guy who brought us the Lord of the Rings trilogy started by making splatterfest flicks.

And if you've got the Evil Dead series on your list, you need to complete that trilogy w/Army of Darkness. All hail Bruce Campbell!

yea, he must have had some heavy duty blackmail on someone in order to land the LOTR trilogy... before that only nasty, F'd up movies were on his resume...

House of a thousand corpses by Rob Zombie was pretty cool.

Yup! But don't bother with the directors cut of army of darkness.. the ending sucks, and they changed the best line of the movie!

"Ash"? In California, that's an acronym for" Atascadero State Hospital", where they lock up the SERIOUS criminal crazies, and throw away the key .........
The Cap'n, LOL

No love for Tarantino?

"Kill Bill Vol. 1" is one of my all-time favorites. Something about cartoonish fountains of blood really warms this ol' heart of mine.

Speaking of cartoonish fountains of blood, I just finally got around to getting Grand Theft Auto III for my PS2. I like it more than I thought I would... Are the sequels even better?

Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Not real gory, but damn good.

Dead Alive is pretty great as well. It's supposed to hold the record for the most fake blood used in a movie. Add a kung-fu priest, and how can you go wrong? biggrin.gif

Thats what I hear...... I know it became a cult classic after Siskel and Ebbert actually dedicated an entire show to it, calling it "The worst movie ever made". I also know that after it came out, it was actually BANNED in a bunch of different countries. Cool

I hear it's pretty gruesome and shocking..... of course, the mail already came... no movie yet. I purchased it Saturday.. so I'm expecting it anytime.

My fiance thinks I'm crazy..... Yet she's looking forward to watching it with me..... Imagine that biggrin.gif

Faces of Death - An oldie but a goodie.
House of 1000 Corpses - Directed by Rob Zombie
--------
And for comedy, U can't beat Caddyshack. smile.gif

Don't forget Shaun of the Dead, the best tribute and parody of all Zombie films ever made. George Romero was so impressed with it, he gave Simon Pegg (the writer and director) a small part in his last film.

Not gory, but Freaks is on my luvit list (Eye and Eye biggrin.gif ) as is PCU. Jeremy Pivens cracks my ass up laugh.gif On to the gory, Devil's Relects is coming out in August I think aktion035.gif Seen 2 different previews and it looks better than House of 1000 corpses! LOVED John Carpenters Vampires, and From Dusk till Dawn, the first one.

Killer Klowns is one of my favorites too. And the Tarantino movie, I think it was Reservoir Dogs, where the guy lies on the floor and bleeds for the whole movie. Now that was gory. barf.gif

Saw was good too!
SGB
Eraserhead

Just watched "From Dusk Till Dawn". It's great! 2 bank robbers and their hostages end up meeting exploding vampires in a Mexican topless bar! George Clooney plays the head bank robber and Quentin Tarantino plays his insane brother. Your mother would not want to see this movie.

And Clooney drives off in a red Cab at the end of the film. (I posted this to the Pelican thread "Movies where the hero drives a Porsche.")

If any of y'all haven't seen "From Dusk Till Dawn," I have just two words.

Salma Hayek.

agree.gif

Saw is going to be one of those movies they remake in several years, they'll make it MORE gory(if possible) and use better acting(Hell, I could do better), and it will be GREAT!

I saw it in in the theater when it came out, and at the CLIMAX of the movie, veryone was laughing, the acting was THAT BAD! but the plot was awesome!

1000 corpses was 'ok' a little too much like TX chainsaw massacre if you ask me.

others: slumber party massacre, scanners, it's alive, Island of the alive
MikeP
I'm telling you FRANKENHOOKER, it is soooo damn funny. Wife dies in freak lawnmower accident, husband kills hookers for body parts to reconstruct her.....best awful movie ever made.
neo914-6
Haven't watched Frankenhooker in decades but IIRC there was a self head "drilling" scene...and an explosion that yielded spare lady parts, LOL

smilie_pokal.gif Army of Darkness is one of my favorites, too bad Bruce did a cheesy futuristin copy of it for TV recently...

How about Resident Evil? confused24.gif

I worked for the company that put I Spit On Your Grave out on video the 1st time back in the early 80s. We would license out movies and distribute them.

What about Return of the living Dead? confused24.gif I loved that film 'Send More Cops'
My second favorite Horror comedy next to Shaun of the Dead. pray.gif
Number three would have to be Killer Clowns from Outerspace (Dickies Rock! aktion035.gif )

Bought all of them on DVD the same day they were released.

Oh really?? LOL I'll take care of the whole movie is a quick summary for those who haven't seen it:

* Woman goes to the country for the Summer

* Woman gets gang raped by 4 guys in rediculously long, poorly choreographed, gratuitious sex scene.

* Woman lives

* woman kills first guy by hanging

* Second guy by castration

* Third guy by axe

* Fourth guy by outboard boat motor.

* The end.

No music, no shock, no blood and gore, no acting skills of any kind, no sound effects, no special effects, very little dialogue.

Hmm.. Man.. Whats not to love?? LOL
