I need an early (1970) rear valence that has a hole (not a notch). Please contact me if you have one. Oh and I'd trade the Monza exhaust for the valence.

For a -4 or for a -6? They're different.
mepstein
I'm guessing the Monza trade was tongue in cheek.

no why is the valence much less expensive than the Monza exhaust. I hate the Monza exhaust I want the car to look stock.

The last Monza exhaust I sold was in good shape and I got $20 for it. The last 914-4 snowplow valance I sold was in ok shape and I got $300, which was a fair price. I was happier about selling the Monza exhaust since that was $20 more than I expected to get.

I have a decent condition snow plow valence that I would sell.

What part of North Carolina are you in?

If you are in for a weekend trip, come up to Pigeon Forge, TN and join us for Teenerpalüza.

I have family in Pittsboro and have been to Chapel Hill many times over the years.
I'll see if I can find some pics of the valence to send to you.
Also, if you are going for originality, the rear bumper should have sharp angles where it enters the middle section from either end. Later models were rounded. I'll send pics of that as well.

Just saw your reply. Be aware that the round hole valance only works with the early 1.7 exhaust that had a bolt on resonator. They got rid of the deep valance as it restricted the hot air from existing from under the car.
What exhaust are you going to use?

I need to determine that. is it inadvisable to use the exhaust you describe becasue of the hot air issue? I want originality but not at the expense of hurting the car.

Personally, if you are building or restoring your car to factory specs, get the deep valance. If you are going to be driving it and it will not be 100% original, go with the shorty valance. Easier to find and much cheaper too. beerchug.gif

You can install a later valance and exhaust system without permanently altering the originality of the car.

I still have the original muffler, HEs and snow-plow valance (as well as a rebuilt tail-shifter transaxle and steel wheels) for my '71 and those items will be provided to the next steward when I pass it on - however, the motor has been built into a 1911, and a side-shift transaxle, 2.0L SSI HEs, a banana muffler and ATS Classic wheels will be installed for the duration of my stewardship cool_shades.gif
