I bet one of these would be loads of fun, a 914 Sporto!
IronHillRestorations
I have an NOS Sporto 6 engine harness to go with it

How many did Porsche build?

Now that is something RARE. Did you get the hardware to make it all work?

Not mine, saw it on another board, just thought I would share. I do have have a collection of 911 Sporto's, both the 905 and the 925.

Gunnar racings 914-6GT pick-up was a sporto

I always wondered if there were any 4 cyl sportos, I think it was an option the first two or three production years. Early 4's have the chassis harness wiring for it.

Indeed. I've never seen one in a photo. Only references in PET.

Very cool period piece. The beginning of the end so to speak. Can't hardly find a new car with a manual transmission today.

Is it a 914/6 sporto or a 911 flipped with a 914/6 tail cone?

I remember one of the ebay offerings was done this way.

I have to admit, if I could have put a nice PDK transaxle in my Six it would have been tempting. hide.gif I love sticks, but the older I get and the way traffic is in the Bay Area, I have often thought how much I enjoy the DSG in my S3.

Now if I were to build a car like @Tygaboy I would have really been tempted with the PDK transaxle- especially with the huge horsepower he will be putting out. beerchug.gif

You get a muscley left leg and can't walk in a straight line anymore.
