Matching Numbers Porsche 914 2.0

This 1974 Porsche 914 is stored for 30 years after the passing of its original owner in 1987, and was acquired by the PO in April 2017. The car has since been refinished in Silver Metallic, and power is from a fuel-injected 2.0-liter flat-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Features include dual side-view mirrors, a center console with auxiliary gauges and a storage bin, coco mats, an aftermarket stereo and speakers, and more. The bumpers were rechromed, new brightwork installed, and the brakes and engine serviced under the PO's ownership. I bought the car in February 2020, served the whole car (all fluids) en upgraded the steering arms for Porsche 930 steering arms.

This 914 is offered with an owner’s manual, spare parts, recent service records, period literature. The car currently resides in the south of The Netherlands.

The body was finished in Silver Metallic (L96D) from the factory, and is said to have been repainted under the PO’s ownership. New Porsche-script side stripes and windshield surrounds were added, and the bumpers were reportedly rechromed. Features include dual side-view mirrors, black rubber bumper guards front and rear, fog lamps, and retractable headlights that are shown raised in the photo gallery below. A scuff pictured on the rear tail panel has since been repaired.
Four-lug 15″ Fuchs wheels are polished and clear-coated before being mounted with new Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires in September 2016, and a matching spare is fitted in the front trunk. A new brake master cylinder, rotors, and pads were installed by Volker’s Auto Repair of Santee, California in April 2017.

The interior is finished in black vinyl with a matching dashboard, door panels, and center console, the latter of which features triple auxiliary gauges and an under-armrest storage bin. The charcoal carpets are protected by coco mats.

A stock steering wheel frames instrumentation consisting of a 250km/h speedometer, a tachometer, a fuel gauge, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 16k km’s. Approximately 3k miles have been added by the PO since 2017 and about 500 by me. A Pioneer CD player with Bluetooth has been fitted along with aftermarket speakers, and the factory units are included in the sale.

The air-cooled 2.0-liter flat-four features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and was rated at 100 horsepower when new. An April 2017 service at Volker’s Auto Repair included new engine gaskets and fuel system parts as well as installation of a PerTronix electronic ignition setup and more. An oil change was performed in June 2020, and a leak is noted from the speedo gear.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle, and the clutch was rebuilt by Volker’s Auto Repair in April 2017. Invoices from the work are present with the car.

It's a reluctant sale, but another car has come along my path and I will have to let this go.
