Saw this on YouTube today.
Will have to investigate sulfamic acid (H3NSO3) a bit more, but it sounds fairly safe as far as "acids" go.

The results are amazing.

I can think of a couple of places on our cars that this cleaning trick could be used.

Interesting. I was all set to order some sulfamic acid until I watched the second vid. that one, of course, is the exact part I would like to bleach. Still worth it to see a guy with a dishwasher cam

Perhaps in the initial video, the plastic part had rust not yellowing that the sulfamic acid could remove?
Or it was a hoax? Ha

I agree on the dishwasher cam....that was fun.

Sulphamic is very good at removing hard water elements. Means calcium and magnesium. It can not reverse oxidation. Especially on plastic. Would think that when it worked was the hard water.

He pulls a brand new tank out of the solution.

There was a spoof like this video out there that starts out the same but ends with throwing the old one in the trash and pulling a new one out of a box.

I bought a fish tank that was just big enough for the washer bottle, and used a strong bleach solution... wait 7-10 days

I tried the bleach experiment with some body plugs during my project build a couple years ago.

From left to right:

(Left) old yellowed plugs.

(Middle) old yellowed plugs put in a dilute bleach solution for a couple of days.

(Right) new plugs from Porsche.

So you can see they are better with the bleach...but not as good as new.
