I’m looking for a steering hub adapter for my ‘71. All the ones I find say they fit ‘72 up. Does anyone know what hub adapter is correct for ‘71.

A momo 8000 for the old school solid hub adapter. Luisi makes on also but I cannot confirm it works. Mom also has kit no. 0230 with the collapsible type. 8000’s are rare and hard to find.
Search for other threads on this. There are plenty.

Thanks! Off to the internet!

I can confirm the Luisi one works, but I couldn't get my horn to function with it

I just found a Luisi one and ordered it. I’ll see how the install goes.

I’ve got a 70 and may do the same. I bought one for my 308 to be able to use the momo pattern and it works great.

I have a Luisi adaptor on my 1970. The horn feature on the Luisi adaptors is drilled in the wrong location, so it won’t work with the horn connector. I ended up mounting an aftermarket Chinese push button (bought on eBay) in the dash to operate the horn.

Scarcity can be an issue with MOMO adapters to '70/'71 columns.

I ended up finding a really nice NOS Nardi adapter on eBAY for reasonable money. I then located a Nardi <> MOMO adapter plate on the interweb. These are fairly slim (10mm or so) and allow the MOMO wheels to mount to the Nardi screw threads and PCD. The horn function is unaffected by the 10mm adapter.

It's an option,

I have been looking at this recently and the Momo boss 0230 (solid) is for the 914-6, 356 and 911 and C0230 for the collapsible version. The 8000 is for the VW spline.

Edit.
My interest has been in the boss for a 914-6. Looking at Dr B Johnsons book, the steering wheel from the pre 72 914-4 can be used but needs the boss at the back removing.
This would indicate the spline is the same but would the 230 boss fit a 914-4 as the cowl is different?

I have a C0230 boss in my parts stash. It came from a '73 911. I believe this should work for a true 914-6 column, cannot confirm for a '72+ 914-4. It certainly does not fit on early 914-4. FYI,
