Looking for advice as to how to best install a stock Blaupunkt radio and glove compartment. I didn't have the benefit of disassembly to guide me.

Any tips as to order of installation would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Peter

The radio is not a problem.
First. The glove box.........it is too large to fit through between the bottom rear edge of
the dash and the bump above the glove box.
Try this, it might work.
Remove the knee pad, 6 phillips screws across bottom facing upward, two more
under black hole caps on each end, one more 10mm bolt under middle of dash
through flat reinforcement bracket.
Next remove two more phillips on passenger end of dash.
Now pull the passenger side of the bottom of dash down and toward rear of car.
Does it move much ? Try forcing the box toward position.
If it goes check position through glove box door, make certain door
opens and closes freely.
It's OK ? ....... position strap and tighten. (deep 8mm socket on 10" extension)
Doesn't fit ? ...... consider more force.....or better.....more disassembly.

Thank you guys for the advice. As I was checking to see if the glovebox I had was the correct one, I noticed that it didn't just slip in.

Your help is going keep this from becoming an all weekend project. Thank you!

I have 2,700 miles in my fresh 914-6 with a restored Frankfurt Blaupunkt. It works and looks perfect in the dash. The only time I have ever turned it on was when I was parked, sitting waiting for my brother who ran into a store. I have no desire for a multi-speaker, equalizer, amp, sound system in my car. The 3.2 with Ben's full SS exhaust is my music. beerchug.gif

I had nothing but bad experiences with several BP radios - terrible tuner sensitivity & low output power. This was the case for both old & new units.
