Why are the 4 cylinder engine mounts still in place?

The weld in mount came from Patrick Motorsports
Yup- what is circled is how the 4 cylinder engine mount. Those can be removed now that you are installing a 6 with the PMS mount. Give you a little more room. 
But not strictly necessary.
