Ace Le Count

Hi everyone, I have a question. I bought my first 914 when I was 10 or 11 years old. (This was in 2013)I paid $150 for the '71 914 rolling shell. I traded it a few years later for a vintage RC10 and an RC10T. The man that bought it from me was named Sean or Shawn. (I'm not positive how his name was spelled.) My 914 had a little bodywork done to it, had the steel VW-sport wheels, about a gallon of bondo per panel, rust in every nook and cranny, and was missing the engine, transmission, front windsheild, passenger seat, etc, and it had the word "most" spray painted on it. It was mostly painted in a faded red with spots of primer. It was painted many different colours, so it could have changed by now. It also had an Edelbrock sticker next to the right taillight. I'm just wondering if the man that bought it from me is on 914 world, or if anyone knows the fate of my 914. I'm trying to locate it. Thanks for reading!!!!

Sadly it looks like you are drawing a blank.
I don't suppose you (or your parents) kept records from when you sold it? Made a copy of the title or bill of sale?

It was never put in our name. My father took a photo of the pink slip the day we sold it. I can try to get it.

If you can find the VIN number, you can go up to the "914 Info" link in the upper-right corner of this page, then to "Member's VIN numbers", and search for that number. Someone may own it or have seen it for sale somewhere.

I make all threads move up to the top,

With me this thread may become seen a lot.

I always force threads to move high In the sky

Now then, my friends, riddle me this:

WHAT AM I?
Ace Le Count
Near and far, high and low,

I bring dead threads to life,

Try and guess me. Do you know?

Once upon a time, there was a Porsche in a field,
Forgotten by the owner, her faded paint began to peel.

Her weariness caused by the parasitic rust,
The lovely young lady thought she soon would be dust.

Onward and upward through countless years and time,
An excited young man took her and said, now you shall be mine.

The two of them together as perfect as can be,
The two of them together for all eternity.

Enchanting as it may be that she narrowly escaped the dump,
She said, to get me out of this field, this thread needs a BUMP.

Wherefore art thou,
My dear long lost treasure?
I feel your presence even now,
For being with you is a pleasure.

Your gentle curves,
My lustful thoughts,
Indescribable by words,
Yet your dwelling I know not.

Too long without you, I cry out in despair,
Falling further away with each breath I take,
I thought you had known us as the one perfect pair,
You alone have the power to cause my soul to break.

I pray thee, sweet Porsche, your life they would spare,
`Tis man's evil nature to kill without care.
Lines so attractive, and beauty too fair,
The hole in my heart, the love we still share,
Be with me sweet Porsche, our love is still there,

Once more I speak-- we were a perfect pair.

My soul longs for your warm embrace,
Your tyred wheels, an asphalted place.
Our joy alone shall make us both jump,
To see your sweet face, this thread I must BUMP.

Thank you, Mr. Karr! I will certainly look into that. I really appreciate it. I'm going to keep this thread updated until I find the car or uncover proof of her demise.
Thanks again!

Lost and alone,
The Porsche cried out:
"Someone will find me,
In flesh or in bone!"

Falling away, the distant one lies,
Rotting and rusting away as she cries

Buried each day, deeper by sand,
Away to her home, and consumed by the land.

Seeking a saviour, she turned round about,
"Here, I will die if no soul hears my cry!"

"Save me, dear friend! My time has not come!
Pray tell me dear God that I'm not the one!"

Consumed into darkness, was there hope for our damsel?
To be taken by evil, as Gretel and Hansel?

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust,
The girl was held captive by rocks and by ruts.
"Away to my home!" as Earth came by clumps,
The dear one cried out, "This thread needs a BUMP!"
Ace Le Count
What will there be when all hope is gone?
What will be said if this war is not won?

The devil is there, within her lair.
Tireless and hungry.
The salt she bears,
At rust she stares,
To which she doesn't care.

Now and then that fateful glance,
By the passersby within their trance
No one dared ask her, "May I have this dance?"
Not a soul would hold her hands.

The burning eyes of those who look,
But caring not; lest their hearts be shook.

Without the man to heal her heart,
What will she be if her engine won't start?

Tires left flat,
Rotten floormats,
A family of rats,
A home for the cats.

Lost forevermore

Something's missing...

I remember now-- BUMP!!!

If the car was never titled in your name (or your dad's name), an insurance company wouldn't have issued a policy. It sounds like trying find the pic of the title on your old phone is your best bet at this point.

Where are you located? (city/state) ... there are a few Seans on this board.

The car was sold when we lived in Spring Valley Lake, (SVL) California.
It's around the Victorville/Apple Valley/Hesperia area. Supposedly the car was taken somewhere around Montclair, CA, but I could be wrong.
Mike Bellis
This thread is getting old. My guess is your car has been crushed.

This website is the single largest resource for 914 fans and if nobody here knows the car, it does not exist anymore.

Yeah, but the young lad does well at writing poetry ... maybe he'll grow up to be a famous lyricist unsure.gif

I thank thee, Euro 911 lol-2.gif

Indeed, Mr. Bellis` words may be true,
The fate of this Porsche may have been cruel.
And yea, to let go, was the plot of a fool,
Forever she is slave to her own master's rule.
A master which may know not of this jewel,
Or master who heals her with many a tool,
The latter I prefer-- would you not, too?
My hope is this thread will not see a duel,
But rather to find a most precious jewel.

To open our eyes,
From the sea to the skies,
Seeking the lass, and whereat she lies.
Many hooks in the water, you'll know if you find,
The car in the photos; the car I call mine.

That's the purpose of this thread.

No time for a poem right now, but I would like to share the photos of something that I made around the same time I had the car. A cardboard body of a 914 built to fit my old 1/10 scale RC truck!
