maybe original carpets in it too.
the for sale photos make it hard to tell for sure.
i have a 74 1.8 with same brown interior.
(not as blindingly reflective).
the carpets had faded to that strange dead pan colour even 30 years ago.
i converted to rhd and managed to get last of new factory stock back then.
made a RHD set for the car i only finally recently installed.
a pic.
Click to view attachment funny car.
but who knows with prices of 914s and the car hyped now.
got no idea what one is worth all of a sudden.
a car like that in aus could probably have that price tag on it but in AUD $.
so more like 20K USD. whether you would get that price remains academic here.
recently a very original - very good condition 1973 white 2.0 in LHD was for sale for AUD $29,900.00.
think i am correct with that figure as he just wanted what it owed him.
it sat around for several months but eventually sold for the asking price.
the LHD puts a lot of potential buyers off, only the serious would apply so limits your buyers to the true die hard enthusiast who has to have one.
i knew the guy to speak to who had it and sold it.
he is building a 914/GT replica.
it was a better looking car than this green one and it was presented very honestly.
and it was faultlessly original. right down to real fuchs (including spare). EFI still installed. console. fully iced 2.0. it had about 150K documentated miles on it from memory. which matched its condition. 150K carefully maintained miles. it was repainted externally but had original paint inners. it had only been imported about 3 or 4 years ago.
having said that there is currently a 1973 2.0L for sale in queensland with a tag of $59,000.00 on it. thats about the highest priced one outside a 6 i have seen here.
by about a factor of 2. i doubt it will get that. there are two others that have been sitting around on the market here for ages. both overpriced roughies.
