I am a new member on this forum. I live in Sweden and my wife inherit a 914 from her brother who sadly passed away in December. The car Is in good condition on body and paint. But it need some TLC because it has stand still since 2006.
It will be great fun to get this car out on the road again. I previous has owned some old Volvo and Saab from the 50,s and 60,s. The 914 will be a new experience.

Hello and welcome, that will be very nice to drive on those long Swedish summer days , you have a few months to get it ready, changing fuel lines will be a must.

Hej Bengan,

Are are you far from Gothenburg?

Welcome to the family. There’s a video on the PCA TechTactics about starting a 964 that had sat since 2006 that might interest you.

great story.

its good when family doesn't dispose of the object.
now that he has left the world, the car is a bit of him that is left in the world.

svedish 914 too.

love saabs. so sad when they stopped making them.

I wonder if this 914 was originally sold in Sweden, or imported?

Asking because I don't see the headlamp washers that we have heard so much about.

if its a 70 it might not have had them.
http://www.saabveteranernatrollhattan.com/...wipe_system.htm

or maybe even later in time.
eg vw didn't fit swedish headlight wash set up on its cars until 74 model year.

maybe the swedish washer for 914 comes later in production run?

you could get it as an option on australian saabs and volvos though there was no law in aus requiring them. still remember seeing them. only cars that had them.

And no front fender warts so it didn't come from the USA.

when you look at the 914 parts list catalogue it lists the headlight washer system as 74 model year.
