Is this fabric original for 1970? And is it possible to find this. I needed to replace the fabric on the driver seat.

I don't believe it's original.
Maybe ask an upholstery shop to get it for you.

Do you have a sliding passenger seat or fixed? It's hard to tell in the pic.

It could be the original Black Leatherette Vinyl with Black Courorouy inserts.

The only way to know if it's original to your own 1970 914/4 is to either have the original sales documents noting it, or a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), or to get Porsche's new versions of the COA from the Porsche Classic in Germany (for you in Sweden & others in the EU/UK) - check via your Swedish Porsche website.

Porsche Classic website may also have photos of the paint & upholstery folders that were given out by dealers.

Also, Jeff Bowlsby has them on his 914 website:

From above link - Shows Black Courorouy was a choice:

As well as some good info at p914.com (& .net & .org).

Jeff's 914 Assessment Form may also be helpful to you in figuring out your resto plans.

PS - Once you know what fabric was original to your `70 914/4, then you can try Lakewell.com &/or a local upholstery shop - preferably one that specializes in 1960s-70s Euro cars.

I have just seen this thread and strangly I have been looking at this over the last week. I have a 1970 914-6 and it came with cord seats that need replacing, I measured between the cords and it is 3mm, is yours the same.

I also have a spare fixed seat which was recovered in a different material and under that material there was another cord material which is 2.5mm between the cords

This is the difference between the two, 3mm on the left and 2.5mm on the right. I know it does not sound much of a difference but the 3mm looks alot better

This is the difference from further away.
