Hi:

I was trying to remove my old roll bar cover on my 1971 1.7l yesterday and I wasn't able to remove it. I reviewed the on online how to video but the guy's car is a 1973.

The 1971 has the metal latch covers and there are two sheet screws that hold the each latch cover on. Will the metal latch covers fit on to the new 914Rubber roll bar covers? Also, the sheet metal screws holding the roll bar cover on are longer and larger that the machine screws supplied in the kit.

I screwed the roll bar cover back on, but unfortunately, it now looks like shit because I gouged some of the foam away to take a closer look at things. On a positive note, my targa top has finally stopped squeaking.

Anyone know if the roll bar covers are different for earlier and later cars?

The roll bar pads should be the same HOWEVER the latches and covers ARE different on the early cars. In theory the removal should be the same and reuse the hardware.
