I was pulling the dogs off 1st gear and noticed this

There are chips broken off the gear cogs where they interface with the dog

The area that the two attach is seen below before separating

I am using the P225 to separate the dogs.

My questions
Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Is this a sign of an issue with the gears? Can I use this gear again?
Thanks in advance.

Actually if they are original dog teeth that looks normal.
Original dog teeth were staked in place along the edge of the splines.
Loctite does the job the original staking did.

I don't believe Porsche considered the dog teeth replaceable originally.

Thanks Jim,
That explains the lack of this repair procedure in the factory manual.
I assume red loctite?
