The light on the top left of the combo gauge works fine to tell me when hand brake is on. Recently the right side of the light came on when I started the car. When I turned the car off it went off and has not come back on. What is the function of the light on the right side?

I know the early gauge had 2 bulbs in the hand brake part of gauge. No idea why only one side worked independent of the other one unless one bulb was bad.

The right side of the brake warning light was intended to be an oil temperature warning light according to this page from the repair manual. Most likely this was for cars equipped with sportomatic transmissions which monitored torque converter temps.
