A member here Lazer cut the flat front piece then welded it to the valance. Looked great.

I just bought a front valance similar to yours but in fiberglass. For the race track in hotter weather out here I cut out all the holes to one big opening and adding stainless square mesh / rat wire. The expanded metal is all flattened which I felt would not allow for very laminar flow. I need all the help I can get with cooling
.

Perfect
That's what I want.
I'm going to fake it till I really run a cooler, right now I just don't drive it on real hot days. I can get away with it in the great white north.

Thanks,
I have the flat mesh and and I don't care for it...why am I blocking it back off?
The SS rat wire I see on amazon is a fairly light wire? .07mm x 4.5mm square?

It's been a while since I did body work, right now I'm just trying to make enough structure so I can take the valance off the car.

Started with a deep fiberglass Hershey find
Cut and molded the opening for the GT cooler
Cut three segments to follow the fender flare
Cut one inch out horizontially and eliminated the brake duct holes
Did some molding and shaping and ended up with a combination of a GT and a Limited
edition.

I did mine out of steel and yes it looks great. If I were to do it again I would just do fiberglass. It's waaaaaay to much work.

I just started hacking on my valance and I'm looking for inspiration.
I cut the hole 1/2" smaller than what I was shooting for.
Click to view attachment I used hammers a slap and dollies to roll the metal over, trying to get a pressed factory look.
Click to view attachmentThen welded a plenum on for the finish. Gave it the break to follow the factory stiffening breaks.
Click to view attachment Need to make it pretty now. Steel is real!

No, not a big dollar build. Just one of our members doing their thing. Maybe 6 months ago.

I've got some time, I'll have a look. I did mock up with cardboard the chin. Since it is a road car for spirited driving, a bit of an outlaw, I ended up going without the chin. Kind of a GT for the street. It actually has a very nice line, but not a GT copy.

mb911 was mocking up a steel GT front valance in 2020. Maybe he kept a template.

Below is a pic that you can read the contours of the inlet somewhat - the louvered inlet is nice as it picks up the fog light cover details

I made the opening about an 1 1/2 inches larger and kept the bumper whole, added brake ducts.

My valance so far....more of a pouting lip.
I think I almost have enough structure to take it back off.
