Ran the a/x at Santa Rosa today.

I got my first TTOD!!

52.122
a guy in a 240Z dropped a 52.169 on his final run to edge out of 2nd place our SIR ANDY with his 52.225.

This should help our 914cup standings.

100 and 99.745 respectively.

Now it's off to Marina for day two tomorrow morning.
We'll be running on another of my course designs.

Come out and run your 914.

Oh, yeah...I forgot to tell you. I had a four-wheel "off" on my first run.

Good job Trekkor. Yup every dog has his day. The good guys just have more of them.
Got my school coming up next Saturday and race on Sunday. August is going to be busy in more ways than one.

What gears do you typically use for the course?

How much does it cost and what special shit do I need to try it out?

How do I register and what things do I have to do to do it?

Beware ....Marina wont be as easy on you! There will be some new comers showing up with 914s. Should be a great weekend!

probably didn't help that i broke my sway-bar on the way to the AX
both of the lower hime-joints (sp?) broke off right where the threads start ...
i ended up fighting the rear end all day instead of being able to concentrate on the course.

but the worst: HEAT must have been 110F at least. and no wind. it's days like that when you wish you had AC while you're waiting in line for your next run ...

today was certainly not *easy* ... there was some pretty tough competition. here's just a few:

a tube frame chassis 911 race car, a fast 911 turbo something something, the 240Z with tires bigger than zois's a$$, a tricked out bimmer, a modified & very fast 912, a very fast 914 with a 2056, lots of 9elebens and boxsters too ...

we had to *work* to keep up the 914club banner ...

Gears. 1,2,3. rarely 4.
Today, it was get into 2nd and that was it ( for me )
The FOUR cylinder guys were picking up 3rd for very short durations or just ridin' the limiter...

$30 to run. Nothing special needed. Loaner helmet are available. Pass tech. Good wheel bearings, solid brake pedal, no gross leaks, battery secure, seat belts and remove ALL loose items from trunks and passenger area.

To register: show up! that's it...no one is turned away.
Has to be a Porsche to run with PCA.

It was crazy hot. Andy was dumping water over the top of his head.

Everyone should try this. These little cars just love it.

I had that same jittery feeling that I had after I ran my first a/x run back in April '04. TOTAL ADDICTION.

Next a/x at Santa Rosa is on Aug 6th.

That's Gary Bayless with his *Highly* modified 912 hillclimb/ax car.

He's the region's a/x chairman. Hard worker.
First time he's run it all year, yet he's been to every event towing the trailer and setting up the course.
