Full Version: Best sounding 914 ever is in Denmark
I am going to agree. That car sounded outstanding. But I thought I counted 6 gears going up.
Wow just as nice as they come.
It's a sequential gearbox. Super cool build

small crank, 4lb flywheel and clutch, light weight rods, twin plug, lighter-small stemmed valves with titanium keepers....
the 66mm cranks like to rev
I have 9K valvetrain
unfortunately his transmission would not be vintage legal
but is certainly cool!

Russ, wow, great 914 video and very healthy sounding car, but ummmm........that is not a stock 901. Sounds sequential also

Love the sound of a 6, and a sequential just... seems awesome...
Have always wondered about straight-cut gears in a 914 since driving a GT3 Cup & RSR. So much of what makes those cars special is the transmission noises...in shades of ALMS and Carrera GT.

Probably. It takes very little effort to spend big bucks on a hotrod engine.
