Has anybody attempted to 3D print the bushing at the firewall? If not, I'm going to take some measurements and give it a try, then post it here and thingiverse.

Should be straight forward. Inner and outer widths with a lip and a catch.

Just print it in something more durable than PLA.

Sounds cool…and I’m all for DIY but I kinda like supporting our vendors for readily available parts. Just a thought.

The nylon that the bushings are cast from is the best for the job. Nothing 3dp would be worth the trouble.

Why not push the easy button for $75?

Why when you can buy nylon for $12 and urethane for $18?

I agree. Cut the new bushing wall at 45 degrees to the length of the bushing & then just slip it over the shift rod. Then push it into the firewall. BTDT.

This is the correct response. If you are trying to make a better mousetrap, this is your answer.

I am considering Delrin from McMaster Carr for all the bushings from front to back. It seems as though the readily available stock type replacements are ill fitting. I am not ready to go to bronze, and Delrin is looking like a good option.
