1) Do I need the highlighted spring washer?

2) If so, where do I get them? I've looked all over. Porsche has the part number, but its been superseded to a different actual part.

Yes you need them. It is a 7mm wave washer. McmasterCarr.com has them.
Much cheaper than what Porsche will charge.
