I believe they are NLA new. Put a WTB in the classifieds, or find one online like this one:

Used one for $20 is probably a good buy. They rarely go bad.

On the other hand...IIRC it only works below ~32F. If you're not planning to drive below that (and if you are, God bless you) then you can ignore its lack of function.
