Although the 2.0 in my car was running nicely, I wanted to get back to the original engine and transmission so that the numbers matched.

The original was a 1.7, but I decided to build it out to a 2056 with all stock DJet fuel injection.

Below are the details together with some pictures.

I am thrilled with the results. Nice increase in power, but mostly I am amazed at how responsive and smooth it is.

Original 1.7 Case
Reconditioned 2.0 crank
H-Beam Connecting Rods
96MM JE Forged Pistons
Biral-lined Cylinders
AAP Heads from LN Engineering (44x38)

So how is that 9550 cam working with the D-jet FI system? It was my understanding that the 9550 did not play well with D-jet.

I had checked into it before the build and was assured that it would work in the application. I would say that it works beautifully. Engine performs better than expected.

That came out looking great! Also curious how the hot-rod 2056 works with the Djet

The cruise control is from Rostra. I'm not sure if this is the same model, but it will get you on the right track - Rostra Cruise Control.

The trickiest part was adding a switch to the clutch pedal to disable cruise. They connect to the brake light to disable when braking.

To sense speed, I glued a small magnet to the CV Joint and mounted a sensor to the transmission - see picture below.

I mounted the control to the shift column because it was a bit clumsy to put on the steering column.

Here's a pic of the speed sensor:

I forgot to share a pic of the super-deluxe blasting booth I used for the hours of bead blasting:

Super nice build, it looks great.

Is that one of Jeff's FI harnesses?

Thanks

Whose swivel feet did you use? Genuine Porsche?
The adjuster stems look on the long side. I know I had to trim mine as they were touching the valve covers.

No, I did the harness myself with connectors from 914 Rubber.

I believe the adjusters are genuine Porsche. The were part of the Raby Cam kit, and they were identified as 911 adjusters.

I don't think they're hitting the valve covers, and I suspect I would hear hit if they were.

Looks awesome. I want your exhaust. It's looks brand new. Where did you get it
