Anyone see such a marking on their car? Right side trailing arm. I am doing a rear brake clean up and rebuild and when I started scrubbing, I found the #4.
Thought I would share it and see if others had markings like this.

Brent discovered something similar on his restoration project. He recreated what his originally had. Photo courtesy Brent

Cryptic mark on mine (but gone now after powder-coating).

Trailing arm "cave paintings". Ha - that's funny. I have always wondered about what these meant and have seen them on several cars.

I thought maybe it was related to alignment shims when assembling.
