the early hubs fit the 914 wheel bearing.
take a tape measure and look for 42mm dia. at the part that goes into the wheel-bearing ...

the problem is....

there are many trailing arms with hubs in them. The owner of them will not let me pull the hubs out of the arms, says he cant sell them that way. so i have to ID them while together. what does and early arm look like?

would hubs from a 65/66 912 work?

I'm guessing a bit, however I think the really early hubs would not work; those up to 68 (short wheel base, shorter arms). You should be looking for steel arms I think. Later hubs have the centering ring on them also; 74 up perhaps and I believe these are aluminum arms.

mine got a serial number on the back, kinda hard to read, but i *think* i got it right ...

If you're looking for early 911 hubs, I have some...they fit 914 trailing arms.

Buy Randy's ...or... Dave's right (as usual) look for "Steel" arms. If you find a pair of steel arms with the rear swaybar ball you're probably safe.
