After looking around at different setups, I found an old thread where someone ordered a new 914/6 cable from Terrycable that was 14" longer than stock and made a bracket.
Looked like an easy way to go. I drew this design up, made the end articulate in/out and swivel up down. once I had it in the sweet spot, I welded it solid and added the gusset.
Its rock solid and works perfectly. I have taken measurements of this one to make myself a solid unit without the slots, but I will probably just roll with this one. WOT, and she snaps right back to zero like a champ.

Does it provide enough travel to the throttle arm?

this really is probably the best solution. the stock one on my six is in good repair but just seems to have a lot of stiction and the pedal force is higher than i like. Nice solution and really nice looking engine bay!!
