I like it but wanted to get some other opinions. Its removed by simply opening the rear trunk.

It certainly isn't stock. I prefer stock!!!

I would have to agree with the above. That is a bit too Honda Fast N Furious for a classic Porsche. Leave that for the Civics.
PanelBilly
Not for me and I like the unusual. The red doesn’t go with body color either. I’d rather see it black.

911 targa emblem could work.

One thing that would improve the look would be to make the red center section match the tail lights in width top to bottom so as to make a continuous stripe. Hope that you follow your own tastes in a reversible manner.

I think it would work if the font was bigger smile.gif

No way, not even a good wall hanger.

If you switched the two halves, it almost spells guitar!

If you like it, that’s enough.

If I saw that "targa" deal on the back of a 914 on the road, I would definitely shake my head in disgust.

But you wouldn't put it on there just for my sake, would you?
IOW is should only matter what YOU think. Unless you are planning to sell them to others. LOL

As a designer, I see two contributing factors to it not looking quite right:
The Red background doesn't follow the lines of the tailight/reverse light
It seems about 3/8" bigger on both the top and bottom.
Once you see it, it becomes obvious

As far as the "targa" script...
Feels like a font created in the late '90s
So it feels "off" when I look at it

definitely not

May be.... If you removed the red part and painted the "Targa" part black. The black on orange looks better.
But its your car, so do what you like.

Wrong color, wrong size. wrong font.

Yes, thank you for all the replies since I have been known to be taste deficient.

I agree the stock look is best. This plate is just held in by the rear trunk lid overhang and the gap between the body and rubber bumper top and weighs a little bit less than 10 oz. It is removed and installed by just opening the trunk.

In my defense, it looks better in real life.

It's interesting somebody thought black would look better. I originally wanted black, but used all my black material trying to figure out how to 3D print a large piece and just happen to have a roll of translucent red handy.

If your gut is prompting you to ask our opinions, then you probably already know the answer.

It would be hard to keep that honeycomb clean.
I like stock. I’m saying because you asked.
