My stick swivels clockwise if pushed hard trying to got into reverse or first. If you swivel it back it kinda holds into a better position. If you are real nice to it this doesn't happen. Suggestions? It moves maybe an inch to the left. Maybe 15 degrees.

Not sure I fully understand (picture??) but, if we are talking about actual clockwise rotation of the actual shift lever (not just the shift knob) you've got loose parts in the system.

Verify all bushings and make sure all shift rods couplers are firmly connected.

There is a bolt that runs though the shift lever to the shift rod coupler. If all that is tight and not worn, you shouldn't be able to develop an actual rotation of the shift lever itself.

If I'm reading this correctly, the rod is held into the ball at the bottom with adhesive. Epoxy. I had to separate the pieces to install a short shift. Heat the lower piece with a torch and it will come apart. Clean both pieces and JB weld together.

Ha . . . Learned something new today. I had assumed the ball was machined and a press fit to shift lever.

Just cleaned grease off a shift lever and sure enough, it looks like some adhesive is there at the top of the ball.

Now I am regretting the console ...

Guys with long legs benefit from breaking the epoxy joint and turning the lever to the right a bit before re-securing it.

I will keep that in mind.

Slightly off topic, ..... has anyone reduced the spring tension required to push the shift lever into the R - 1 gate?

Maybe I miss reading this but if the shift rod is rotating left or right where it meets the rest of the mechanism isn’t the solution to just tack weld it back in place?

If I pull up the console and remove that plate holding the stick, any chance I will change anything important as far as alignment etc? My transmission shifts really nicely, I would hate to make a mess of it.

You risk going into 1st when doing an aggressive 4th to 3rd downshift

Thanks. I have been considering this for a while, and I personally never "aggressively shift" any of my sporting machines. Even when new, these gearboxes required a soft touch. just my .02

Rennshift is spring-loaded both left and right, and the spring pressure can be adjusted to your preference.

Did a little Sunday morning stick work. Went quite nicely. Such a silly design glueing that stick in there like that. Just like new now. Not a bad job at all.
