After a lot of mental back and forth I’ve decided to offer my 1975 914 for sale. My intention was always to restore the car as it is very original (except for an OK paint job at some point) but I don’t see the time being available in the near future. The car has been here in Fort Wayne, Indiana it’s entire life. I’m the 4th owner, having bought the car in 2015. It has about 82,000 miles on the odometer. It’s been a very reliable running, driving car, but there are some rust issues as you’ll see in the pics. I didn’t fully know what I was getting into regarding the battery / hell hole situation which was down-played during my purchase process, but that’s on me. The push rod tube seals seem to drip a bit, but not to any great extent. There are no other significant issues with the car of which I’m aware – recognizing the rust is no small task. The L-Jet fuel injection is in place and works great. Here is a list of what I’ve done during the car during my ownership. Have receipts for everything.
• Replaced fuel lines front to back using Tangerine Racing stainless Steel tubing and new soft lines.
• Installed rebuilt fuel injectors installed (have the originals)
• Replaced fuel pump
• Rebuilt the shift linkage bushings
• Installed Tangerine Racing Precision Shift Adjuster
• New idle air control valve
• Replaced soft brake lines with braded stainless line. Have a set of new rotors that come with the car
• Pertonix electronic ignition replacing points and Pertronix coil. New spark plug wires and distributor cap. New plugs at tune-up last summer by local German car specialist
• Replaced front and rear sway bar bushings
• Momo steering wheel – have the original
• European light lenses – have the originals
• Kenwood stereo – have the dealer installed original
• Replaced the horns
• Replaced the accelerator pedal
• Two sets of nice aftermarket floor mats including 50th anniversary
• Interior is totally original. Some cracks in seat upholstery and one small crack on dash, but nice overall.
• Previous owner replaced brake master cylinder – have receipt
• Previous owner replaced heat exchangers – have receipt
• Following service performed at 81,372 miles by Werner’s Garage (have receipt): New plugs, distributor rotor, adjusted valves, adjusted timing, compression test
This is a reliable running driving car, but of course the rust will need addressed. I don’t want to give it away, but I’m also not holding out for top dollar. Most of the cars I’ve see for sale are either a lot nicer (and priced accordingly)or a lot worse. I’m pricing it at $6,250. Let me know what you think guys, or what questions you have. Here is a link to my google drive with a bunch of pics:

This car is definitely worthy of a restoration, but you’re gonna need to decide on a price in order to comply with forum rules.

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. The asking price is included at the end of the listing,

Maybe it got lost in my lengthy posting.

Ah, yeah. I think I got lost reading and looking at the photos.
This thing will be a great find for someone looking for a project!

Thats the kind of project Ben @martinmidengine does, but I'm not sure if he'd buy outright. Usually he does commission work as I understand. You can message him through his insta address (above).
Nice guy, does great work.
