I need a horn contact, the spring loaded rod like piece that goes through the steering wheel.
I have a 1973 steering column, and steering wheel.

There seems to be 2 types of the contact; Long and short.

Could someone measure theirs or help with which is which?

Thanks!

Long is for early 914’s. Short is for the 914-6 and 911’s. ‘72 and later use a brown wire that attaches to the horn pad. They don’t use the spring plunger.

Thanks, it makes sense due to the 911 style directional signal mechanism vs the 914-4 which is a VW unit.
One step closer to having antique plates on my vintage race 914 so I can drive it on the street.
