Seems that wiper motor needs to replaced as a result of the wiper blade getting caught on the windshield trim and jamming. All happened pretty quickly and was my fault.

Have checked the fuse and wiring and they’re fine so pretty sure it’s the motor.

Problem is that there aren’t many 914s in Australia so I can’t find a genuine used one here readily and I need one in a hurry as the car needs registration at the end of the month.

Any suggestions? Ive seen new Bosch ones that look like they might work and / or I can get used VW or used 911 wiper motors easily but not sure if they’re an option?

Would appreciate any input from those who know what a solution might be.

Thanks,

Phill

Changing the motor is a project. Just did mine a few months ago. We made a video on my buddies YouTube channel Barefoot Garage. Take a look. Mine Jammed up for different reasons you will see in the video and burnt the switch in the steering column. I swapped it out before we made the video. I strongly suggest you make a long lead out of a coat hanger or something and reach in there and check for power at the motor connections before taking it apart. Other posts here and Google will get you to the right wires at the motor.

Cheers mate, will have a look at video. Thought it was a shitty job and know that the tank has to come out to get to it that’s why I’d been putting it off. I never drive it in the rain either.

Hi Phil,
I have wiper motors. Can sell you the motor only or the complete assembly.

Didn't McMark use a Boxster wiper motor on one of his 914s?

Thanks Bruce, sent you a pm.

Thanks Sir Andy, very helpful of you to post the link. Looks like a pretty straightforward solution. Thanks again.
