I need to get to the longitudinal on the passenger side (of course). I'm looking at a cut something like this:

But, I've got fiberglass 1/4 panels. Do you think I can cut this and get it back together as a DIY? I've done fiberglass work, done regular dent repairs on steel. Just not sure about bonding this in with no overlap to work with.

Any pointers?

You can do it just taper each side on the face and an overlaping layer on the back.

You can do it with f/g but I would be careful with water and rust in the future. The trick would be to get all the sheet metal bonded and than painted. You'll have to have a lap joint on the backside which will to tough getting access to the back.

Hard to apply f/g vertically and upside down. It gets a little messy with it running and dripping everywhere.
