It looks like I have a seized valve guide. Any recommendations on valve spring compressors?

Till you figure out what compressor you want you can take the springs off with a rag stuffed in the combustion chamber (heads off obviously) and a appropriate size socket for the valve spring retainer and a hammer. Wack the retainer with the hammer and the keepers should pop out and stay in the socket.

Take it to a machine shop, make it simple on yourself.

I've been able to make a crappy NAPA one work for years. Patience.

Me too although I made up a longer lever from a length of tubing flattened to fit over the handle, even stock single springs are pretty beefy.

Factory tool works good but is hard to find.

A tool similar to the factory tool is being sold by someone on the Samba website. The Bay Window buses used heads similar to the 914’s; and even the same in some instances.
