Turn the key alternator light flashes and makes noise like a turn signal. Does not go out when I start the car.
I see 14v across the + and - on the battery with engine running and 12.3 or so with engine off.
Replaced VR with no change.
PO changed the electrical portion of the ignition switch because you could remove the key and the car would keep running. My wipers work and my horn does not.
I don’t think horn is related because I removed the batwing and the cable is not connected.

Sounds like you may want to verify how the wires are hooked up on the back of the instrument. Seems like your alternator light is operating like the brake warning light.

When you turn the key on do any other lights come on near the alt light? Do they go out when the engine is started? Does the light in question still act the same way with the parking brake off?
