Good morning - we can file this under the heading of "where the heck did these go and/or why on earth would someone remove them..."

I have two cars where multiple ones have gone missing. Weird.

Think I should just pay $3.5 for the OEM 999-507-317-02 ones or has someone figured out what cage nuts from McMaster Carr will work?

Thanks!

Dave_Darling
Don't know what sizes the McMaster Carr ones are, but at one point I asked my coworkers about the square clip-in nuts that hold servers into racks. They gave me a bag of them, and they seem to be the right size.

I, uhh, can't find them now of course. I'm pretty sure I used one when the passenger door pull mounting bolt got cross-threaded by some idiot (possibly the same one writing this reply!) and I had to cut the bolt and replace the nut.

Try Belmetric.

These worked ok for me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RLZG3F...e=UTF8&th=1
Since they a commonly used in server racks they are common, though it is hard find in quantities below 50 or 100.

I did find them at Belmetric for 52 cent each for the M5
