Has anyone swapped a sunny automatic trans in their 914 . If so how did you convert it from awd to fwd

I don't know what a "sunny" transmission is but if you wan't to convert a Subaru automatic trans to use in a 914 then check out Subaru Gears. They sell the kit.

It gets me too; all the time. Especially when texting. Try texting the word Bondo sometime.

Go to a recyclers and find a Suby 2wd trans. Pull the back plate off with the bearings and shaft with it and buy it. Pull the back of your 4wd trans off and replace it with the unit you bought and it should fit right on. I makes a difference if your trans is a 4EAT or a 5EAT so match it up. I've done it but decided to scrap the idea when I found it added another 80 or so pounds out behind the rear axle. No bueno...
