I would like to find the dealer where my car first came to. Is there a way to check the car history?

Unless you have a clear ownership trail from first purchaser to you, probably not.

Yes, there is a guy who has a list of every 914/6 that was sold new in the US. Usually he can tell you the date it was sold, the dealer that sold it, the city that the original owner lived in and some other stuff. He charges for his info. His web site is:
