I live in south Orange County and use AASE in Fullerton. I don’t know if they work on type 4’s. If your car is a stock type 4, I would also post on the Samba. There might be a VW place that might work on your car.

There is a vw shop in Burbank, don’t remember the name, just off the corner of San Fernando rd and Buena Vista, seen a few type 4 there.

TRE and AASE are top shelf names in the classic Porsche world, be prepared pay top shelf prices.

If that’s not who you’re looking for, find a good VW Indy that has type IV exp like mentioned above.

Taken to a Pcar shop to get tinkered with, the service bills get expensive in a hurry.
