Looking for a either a known good, rebuilt alternator or a recommendation on where to buy one. I do have a text message out to Bruce Stone... This is in case I strike out there.

Thanks!

Looks like I can get a Duralast locally for cheap.

I also found someone not all that far from me that can rebuild it. Still haven't heard from Bruce...

I’ve used a local shop to rebuild several with good luck. Last time it was $90 but the time before it was $120. Happy to drop off one of my spare cores if you want to go that route. Alternators Unlimited in Berkeley, CA.

I just found this in the garage, I purchased about 10-years ago. It's available, but I will need to check current prices??
if interested let me know next week.

I'm interested, but it would have to be fairly cheap as I'd have no way of returning it if DOA.

Buy Tom’s! It’s a Bosch reman it will be good to go. I only buy Bosch remanufactured alternators for my cars.

Here’s current pricing:

Unfortunately, prices have gone up as I bought mine from FCP a few months ago for about $170.

That unit does not have the proper case it will bolt up but the cover won't fit right or seal.

Try the local route first, have your own rebuilt, it fits.
Shop can replace bearings, diodes and contacts. Avoid a shop that just spray paints and adds a sticker.

agree.gif Exactly what I did when I worked at the Porsche shop. Usually $75-125 and two day turnaround.
