So I'm putting up some pictures of calipers and assorted hardware that I got back from the platers today.

So now I need to do something with these. The platter wouldn't take them, said he would damage them. Should I sand blast them and paint them? I plan to paint the calipers yellow so i can paint the postons at the same time.

I'd bead blast them, but being careful on the sides of the pistons. Give'em a light coat of paint on the exposed surfaces.

Clean the pistons with brake cleaner.

Use a buffing wheel to polish the sides.

Tape off the sides and glass bead blast the tops.

Repaint the tops with POR-15 Manifold Grey High Temp Paint.

Remove the tape and do a final cleaning with brake cleaner on a cloth.

(that's what we do on all of our rebuilds/restorations) wink.gif
