Hello All,

My 2056 street build is getting new AA castings that come with 14mm spark plug holes. I have the option of adding material and changing to 12mm spark plug holes, which from my research is what many have done in order to prevent them from cracking.
I am concerned about the change in temperature when welding in hot new metal to a cold head, but perhaps the heads are heated prior to adding material.

1) Since they are new heads, should I be concerned about cracking and add material or should I leave them alone and use the 14mm spark plug holes?
2) If adding material, should I be concerned with the heat added to the head when building up the spark plug holes to accommodate?

Any feedback would be appreciated!
