I wasn't sure whether to post this in the garage or the classifieds. The 72 rust bucket that former, and currently banned, forum member ScottyBoy sold me, is for sale for an absurd price. (It's a long story if you weren't around on the forum back in 2013-14)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/115439386827?hash=...moAAOSwt~9isynjThe longs on this car are toast, there are multiple holes in the floors and inner fenders, and the entire thing is loaded with bondo. It was so bad that when I took it to Black Forest Racing in Denver, NC to get a quote from them on rust repair, they wouldn't even give me a number and told me to sell the car as fast as I can. You know it's bad when a shop that made their livelihood from restoring 914's tells you your car is so bad that even they don't want to work on it. Just about every inch of this car is rusty and basically held together with chicken wire and bondo. When you put this car on a lift without the top on, the door gaps changed a truly scary amount.
Aside from the bigger engine and the roll bar the car has now, it looks like absolutely no other work has been done to the car since I sold it back in 2014. The missing orange paint above the rear bumper is still there from when I had AAA push me with their truck to bump start the car
Edit: adding VIN number in case any potential buyers google the VIN. Hopefully this will show up in google search results. 4722908443

That's how I got conned by ScottyBoy, and is one of the reasons he got banned. If banned forum member's threads didn't get deleted, I could show you the drama. I'll try and find some pics of the rust on my old computer. It was BAAAAAAAAAAD!

Not sure exactly where on the car this is, but this is basically how the entire underside of the car looked. Anywhere that you could see through the goopy undercoating, there was rust scale and holes
Edit: oh wait I know where this is. Driver side front wheel well under the turn signal. You can also see that the flares are fiberglass.

Ha! I didn't even notice that.
I sent the seller a message and asked if he fixed all the rust considering the asking price. Can't wait for the reply, if I get one.
I can't recall if this was the guy I sold it to, but it did go to Georgia so it might be.
BTW, if anyone is wondering, all of these pics I posted and more were in the ebay listing when I sold it. I don't fuck people over. The problem with this car is that it looks good enough from 10ft that you can easily screw someone with an online sale. But $60k?! That's criminal. If someone actually buys this thing sight unseen, the seller is gonna either get sued or shot.

I don't know what you're referring to but I can guess it's a story we've all heard before countless times. Something to the effect of:
1. You weren't happy with the work done on your car.
2. You weren't happy with the time frame for the work done on your car.
But both of those things are pretty subjective, he said, she said, I thought, you thought, etc. Lots of "But you said...." and "What did I pay for?"
What I can tell you about the picture above, and this isn't subjective, just the truth, is that the pic was taken about halfway through a 17 hour day where Scott volunteered to help me out because I was 500 miles from home and in a really tight spot. He saw I needed help and showed up, unannounced, just because. He worked non-stop all day and even woke his parents up at 1AM when we showed up to dump two cars and two truckloads of parts at their farm. He did this not for pay or glory but just because he is a friend. So while you may have not had a good experience sending your car to him, which like I said can be a subjective ordeal, I have had nothing but a kind friend.

Rest assured I am alive and well with a shop full of customers cars that know what they want and can afford it to be done right. Not wishy washy, mind changing, cheap ass, wanna be player that can't afford proper work and expect to be put in front of existing customers because their car geys them the attention their daddy never have them, then stab me in the back for doing EXACTLY what they asked me to do and approved of. Sll of my work is on my terms, 90% of it is still Porsches, but yeah, I have sworn off 914"s strictly due to 3 customers in particular. 3 magazone writeups, a Rodders Journal cover car don't lie.
FWIW I have no affiliation with the car that started this thread. I am not in the sales world, cars or parts
I dropped all of this shit, and moved on with my life and business because mu life doesnt revolve around being a forum troll, amd needrd to take care of the things that happened on my end. I still have EVERY record of emails, texts, and screen shots of threads to prove my side. Once again, you feel like you can attack me because you ate a petty little troll, and think I am not around. I still have a lot of friends and customers tjat keep me apprised of ypur slander.

Just to clarify, Scotty Boy and Scotty B are two different people. Scotty B is not the scam artist who ripped me off with this rust bucket. That was Scotty Boy, aka Scott Vitolo of Staten Island, NY.
I have no beef with Scotty B, I have never met him or had any dealings with him.
Let's keep this thread on-topic please before it goes off the rails and gets locked. I started this thread with the purpose of trying to prevent some other poor guy from getting ripped off with this rust bucket again. Can we save the non-pertinent dirty laundry for some other thread?

interesting description in the ad - "correct Fuchs wheels". Looking at the way the petals are polished and painted, they look a LOT like replicas to me. Clearly any buyer will want to be checking many, many things before shelling out that kind of cash....

I'll be curious to see additional pics as well, and to see how he frames the photos. Looking at the pic of the floor that he used in the auction, he framed it pretty cleverly. The gaping hole on the inner long was right behind the jack point, and is out of frame. But you can just make out in the pic the large hole on the front inner corner of the passenger side where the metal is bent down, as well as the mess below the pedal cluster on the driver side

Nothing worse than a cosmetically decent, structurally terrible 914. Are those zip-tied fuel lines dangling down below the body or is it just the angle??

That is correct. There was like 3 or 4 feet of fuel line under the tank that was all bundled up. No idea why, but I can assure you it was not my doing! But it's pretty emblematic of everything on this car. Someone went to the trouble to replace the fuel line, but why not do it correctly and simply cut the line to size?!

It really makes me sad to think that someone will eventually buy this car (hopefully not for $60k) and then they will judge 914's by it.
I'm not a tremendous fan of BAT but at least there, the peanut gallery chimes in and can help tamp down unwarranted enthusiasm and unrealistic pricing. No such thing on E-Bay.
