I was showing a friend my new rain hats for the Webers (thanks James and Hiedi) when he asked about rain protection for the dist. and coil. Has anyone had trouble with the dist. and coil getting wet and effecting performance during heavy rain with the rain tray removed?

Cheers, Elliot

I have solved the problem of rain ever getting into the engine bay.

It's called a garage. laugh.gif

Elliot, if you are driving, and it's not raining hard enough to foul your distributor, -while running- you are fine.

Allan, you need a butt whoopin'.

I use those little umbrellas that come in the drinks at the bar.

Get them color coded to your car!

I know of an old 4X4 mud-bogging trick where you use some RTV blue or a reasonable facisimile around dizzy cap and plug wires. No worries then. smile.gif

Drive faster ya old phart

Other than that, RTV the spade connectors and spray clear plastic on the dizzy cap.

If it still gets wet and dies, you've driven to far west.
