Full Version: spotted in Crested Butte CO Monday 12 Sept
That's a friend's car, built/rebuilt by another friend: Ernie King.
Was a black/yellow (and very fast) race car for many years with a 3.0, then Ernie bought it and redid it largely as you see it here in the 1990s…in silver with a 3.6 with carbs and then a Jerry Woods 3.8 with EFI (Motronic IIRC). A switch back to Fuchs, the GT bumpers, and Martini stripes (stickers) are fairly recent.
Drove the car for the first time in a long time last summer and it still feels seriously quick—even today. But then, a big six in such a light chassis was always gonna be...

Wow. I almost bought Ernie's car is May of '99. My wife and I drove it and decided it was a bit too much for a street driver. Great car and Ernie is a great guy who built a terrific car. Here are a few pictures of me and Ernie with the car. I have a bunch more of the car that I kept all these years because it was such a nicely built car.
