so it might? be that...
but I'm guessing it is not..
I'm guessing it might be an air box mount for an L-jet system ?
that is a guess...

I wonder if there’s another used for that piece; it a pretty sturdy part.

thats because the 1.8 is a fire breathing monster that could suck the air cleaner off the side wall if it was not bolted down with 15 tonnes of resistance.
its over engineering for any other application.
